UCPAP Student awarded AAPA Rural Health Caucus Scholarship

Congratulations to UCPAP student, Danielle Ashley, for receiving the AAPA Rural Health Caucus Scholarship.

The AAPA Rural Health Caucus Scholarship is awarded to academically successful PA students who have a commitment to service in rural communities. Danielle was one of only 38 students out of over 1,200 applicants to receive a PA Foundation Scholarship. As a resident of West Virginia, Danielle understands the need for improved access to healthcare in rural areas and has a history of promoting healthcare here at home. During her PA training, Danielle completed multiple clinical rotations in rural southern West Virginia health professional shortage areas (HPSAs). The University of Charleston Physician Assistant program is proud to recognize Danielle for her achievement!
