UCPAP Student receives Veterans Caucus Scholarship



The UCPAP is proud to recognize senior student, Megan Laffitte, for being awarded the SSgt. Robert V. Milner Memorial/Veterans Caucus Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding PA student who is a US Air Force veteran or dependent of a US Air Force veteran. The scholarship is provided by Rear Admiral Mike Milner, PA-C and his wife , Patricia Castillo, PA-C in honor of Milner's father, SSgt Robert V. Milner.

Megan expressed a desire to improve access of quality healthcare to US veterans and pursue the possibility of a career in the VA system early on in her PA training. During her clinical education phase, Megan completed several clinical rotations with the local Veteran's Affairs Medical Center. Recipients of this scholarship are chosen based on their scholastic achievements, civic and community involvement, and personal statement.
