Open House

The University of Charleston hosted an Open House for the PA program this past November. The purpose of this event was to promote the UCPA program and the PA profession. The Open House was well attended by community members including local government officials, healthcare professionals and healthcare facilities administrators, as well as many prospective students and their families. The event provided those in attendance with the opportunity to tour the PA program facilities and meet the faculty, staff, and current students. It also served as the perfect opportunity for the University of Charleston and the PA program to recognize so many of the donors from the local community whose generosity made the establishment of the PA program possible.

The current class of PA students played a huge role in the success of this event. The students served as tour guides, provided demonstrations in the history and physical exam and simulation labs, and served on panel discussions and Q&A sessions for the attendees. They also took the time to create a video highlighting the diversity of the UCPA students and demonstrating what a "day in the their lives" as PA students is really like. This video is a great example of the heart and dedication of these UCPA students!

Thank you to all the community members who attended this event and support the UCPA program. Thanks also to the University of Charleston and the UCPA class of 2015 students for making this event such a success!
